Made with 55% whole bunch vinification, 65% new oak. Dense black centre with purple rim. There is a suggestion of an immense wealth of fruit here, though the detail is still to come. The depth though is spectacular. More dark fruit than red, but as ever both are in the equation. That little touch of wildness. Some very dark strawberries, and not quite a sensual finish but generous with very silky tannins. 13.8% alcohol and the best acidity of the three wines. - JM

The 2020 Clos de Tart Grand Cru contains around 55% whole bunch this year with 65% new oak. It has a very limpid hue in the glass. The bouquet takes time to open but my word, it is beautiful, extraordinarily pure with black cherries, crushed stone, hints of pressed violet all exquisitely defined. The palate is medium-bodied with a velvety smooth texture, fine acidity, the neatly integrated. Very sleek and sensual on the finish, this is a very sophisticated and somehow "complete" Clos de Tart. - VM

The 2020 Clos de Tart Grand Cru is brilliant, bursting from the glass with aromas of dark berries, peonies, rose petals, sweet spices, orange rind and incense. Full-bodied, layered and concentrated, it's elegantly muscular and multidimensional, with terrific depth at the core, ample reserves of ripe, powdery tannins and a long, resonant finish. Seamless and integrated, it was blended in the summer of 2021 before returning to barrel to complete its élevage. - WA
